As you’re hopefully aware. The club are looking for ways to improve our facilities. One area highlighted for improvement is the outdoor patio area.
Through our large and ever expanding junior section we already offer a lot to the youth of Orrell and surrounding areas. Through our Chomp and Chatter project we hope to encourage more elderly members of the community into the club for some food, drink and a chat; with each other, our other spectators, players and junior members bringing the community together and helping with the isolation issues that they may face.
As part of this, we are looking to develop our outdoor area to include new seating, heating and a barbecue area which will make it a real social space where the community can come together to interact and watch cricket. This transformation will provide a safe, comfortable and appealing community area where parents, grandparents and visiting supporters can watch their families play cricket or simply socialise.
As you’ve probably guessed, all this will cost money, and you can help us raise it. But we’re not asking you to put your money in your pocket (this time). Our Chomp and Chatter project has been recognised by Aviva as a worthy cause and it’s up against other bids in the Aviva Community Fund vote for November.
You can help us to win by simply going to https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-3633#plus registering for an account and then using the ten votes that you get to vote for the ORTCC Chomp and Chatter Project. The project with most votes by 21st November will get the funding they have bid for, so it’s a real chance for you to support your club.
We’ll be publicising this all through the month, but don’t wait, register today and get those votes in and help us develop your facilities. The link again, is https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-3633#plus
