Whilst most of us will be focussing on the Ray Tyler Cup final this Sunday, one of our players will be putting aside relaxing and watching his mates play cricket to take on a massive personal challenge and for a very good cause. We’ll let ‘Andy Andy Ackers tell you about it…
Recently, I have experienced all too well the devastating effects Alzheimer’s and dementia have on individuals and their families. Horrible, horrible diseases.
Because of this, I’m trying to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society to help find a cure.
I’m running the Wigan 10K and asking people to sponsor me to run it in under 49 minutes. I’ll have to push my mind and body to the limit to do this, especially the morning after a match, but it will be nothing compared to the awful mess these diseases cause!
Please sponsor me; any amount at all is greatly appreciated.
So there you are, if Andy can push himself that hard on a sunny Sunday them I’m sure a few of us can forgo a pint or two. It’ll raise money for a good cause AND make you a little bit fresher come Monday morning.
Andy’s just giving page can be found on the link below. Please give what you can. Every little helps.
